Still Undecided…

Yup, I’m changing the style of my blog again! I think I really like this one this time! I thought that of the last style too! Oh well! Just one of those days I guess. I like to keep things interesting, life is way too short to be boring!!

Have a great weekend!

Sunshiny days are here again!!!

Summer is on it's way!! After our cloudy, rainy week last week it sure is good to see Mr. Sun again! We had a lot of nice weather last weekend so here's a couple of pictures to show you what we did!

The kids and I also went for a walk yesterday to watch my brother's baseball game. We only caught the last little bit, but it was a fun walk for us. I think we will probably walk to Arielle's baseball tonight as well.
Also this weekend I sent letters to my 'boys' again. I was actually a week later than usual, so I made sure to have them in the mail by Friday. I'm still waiting for letters from my other two boys (Niyomugabo sent me 1 already!). I check my mailbox every day hoping for something!

Psalm 71:14 "But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more."

Are you hoping for a letter as well? How long has it been since you last received one?

Have a blessed day!!

This Week...

What a great week it's been! Monday was nothing special, just an ordinary day in my household. Tuesday we took advantage of the great weather and spent some time outside.

I was also able to get a lot of baking done on Tuesday, even with babysitting my niece! I made 2 kinds of cookies, 2 loaves of lemon loaf and rice krispie squares. It sure is nice having some goodies in the house again! It's been a while since I did any major baking.
On Wednesday, Arielle and I went on a girls morning out. We just went into town to do some shopping. We spent an hour and a half and the local thrift store! I really enjoy shopping there because it's amazing what you can find there for very little money. I bought a pair of Calvin Klein cord pants that look brand new for $2.00! That is not a typo. I was very excited! I also found some other things for me and Arielle found a couple shirts. She was hoping to find a dress, but they didn't have a good selection for any kids stuff yesterday. That's OK, better luck next time. After our thrift store shopping we went to the discount book store in town. I was very excited to find an activity book with a thin Spanish insert in the back! It was great! It's a thin book with Jesus stories all in Spanish! Alejandro is gonna love it! I looked for things for Niyomugabo and Nsengimana but all I found were bookmarks. I'll keep checking though, hopefully next time I'll find something.
Today I have a houseful of kids again, so it's gonna be a busy one. I have to get to the grocery store yet today (prob  this evening) and get the groceries that I'll need for this wonderful Easter weekend. But now, I have babies waking up from their morning naps and broccoli & cheese muffins to make, so I should probably go for now.

Romans 5:8 " But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Happy Easter!

Yup, I'm still not sure what colors I want for my blog. I keep trying different things to see what I like. I'm just so undecided!! There are too many choices! Please bear with me
I will hopefully be done soon.....

Laundry. Fun?

I never totally understood why my mom always had a table in the laundry room.
Like really, what is the point?
Your down there all by yourself folding laundry. How fun is that?

Very Very Fun!!

And SOOOOO Quiet!!!

Growing up I did not enjoy folding laundry because it usually meant being in the cold, damp basement by yourself with just you and a table full of laundry. It was not exciting at all. I would have much rather brought the laundry upstairs and folded it in the living room instead of in the 'dungeon'. Our basement wasn't that bad, it was just very cold, and eerily quiet when you were down there alone and for a girl (with a very active imagination) that's a scary place to be. I mean who knows what goes on down there when nobody's around, right? Or so, I thought.
Now that I'm older however, I totally get it.
Yesterday, I put a table in my laundry room.

I...

                 LOVE...

                                             IT!

It's so quiet and peaceful down there I look forward to doing laundry! Would you believe I did 6 loads yesterday just because I have the table? I have another 2 on the go! I know how crazy this sounds! Especially from me cause I do NOT enjoy doing laundry. Just ask my husband. Almost every time I do laundry, I don't end up folding it all, or I don't hang it all. It rarely all gets done the same day. So, yesterday when he got home and I told him that I had done 6 loads and they were all folded and almost all put away, he was amazed to say the least.
So maybe, this was just what I needed to enjoy doing laundry.

Huh! Who knew?

Any Ideas on how I can enjoy washing dishes??

The Joy Of Spring

Ahhh, spring is in the air. Can you feel it? It has finally come to southern Manitoba, with it's wonderful smell and it's promise of something new. I really love spring. I have an extra bounce in my step and a new song in my heart. Even though it's dirty and messy, spring feels so clean. It smells new, fresh and crisp. It makes you want to go outside at every opportunity and just sit and soak up the sun.
This year, winter has felt like it's been here forever. Manitoba winters are always very cold. If the temperature isn't cold, then we have a biting wind chill that chills you to the bone. So when the first signs of spring come, us Manitobans get really excited! We start spring cleaning, we get outside more, we are generally a lot more cheerful too! It's a really fantastic season!
Seeing as how spring is here now, I think it's time I change (or get?) a daily routine. I was reading a blog post the other day on "Blogging from the boonies" (www.meeshimama.blogspot.com) and she was sharing how she keeps her home organized. So I gave it some thought and decided that it's time for me to have a 'chore' list. In the past when I've shared my frustration with my husband about how I have a hard time getting stuff done some days, he told me to write it down. In my mind, I just pictured a list that I would make each day. Instead, in this post she said how she has a daily list (things she does every day) and a weekly list. She also shared what was on her list (Thanks!). I'm a visual person, so seeing the kinds of things that would be on a daily list made it seem so simple. So, I've decided to give this a shot. So far I've been able to keep up, however, I have a short list for now until I get into routine. I've never been very good at having a routine so let's see how this one works out!!

Happy Spring Everyone!!

Friday!!

Well, the weekend is finally here! I hope that we continue to have nice weather. I'm also hoping that I'll get over this cold soon. I've had it for a week now and It's not getting any better yet. But, it is the season so I'll continue to do what I can to get rid of it.
This week has gone by way too fast. I feel like it should be Wednesday but I'm also glad that it's Friday. Tomorrow, I have a girls day planned with my daughter and my friend and her daughter. We are just going to go out and do a bit of shopping maybe, just spend time with our girls. Lately it seems that Arielle needs a bit more time with her mom, so I think it will be good for both of us to spend some quality time together.
I haven't posted much this week because my head cold hasn't let me think. Maybe that's God's way of telling me it's time to slow down, he wants me to spend some time and 'rest' in him.....

Have a great weekend!
